Apples and Thanksgiving

I haven't blogged in a long long time, so here is an update. We had our annual apple party two weeks before thanksgiving. Then we spent Thanksgiving in North Carolina. Two weeks in North Carolina, It was great! It was a lot warmer then we expected it to be this time of year. We flew into Norfolk Virginia and spent a day in Virginia before we picked up Erin and Nic. We went to Chincoteague island, to see the ponies of Chincoteague. That night we picked up Erin, Nic and  and spent another night in Virginia. We woke up early the next morning, well.... it seemed early to me because i was up all night. Then we got in the car for a long day, drove to Buxton where we met Josh and Jess.  We had a really good dinner that night. When we got back to the hotel we just talked and caught up, it's been awhile since we've all been together. Well, the next day we woke up even earlier...squished in the car and drove to North Carolina. Erin and Nic had it pretty good, But Colman and I had to sit in the back seat with Norah. It wasn't the most comfortable ride, two teenagers and a car seat....if you can imagine. We only stopped a few times that day, so when we finally got to the ferry all three of us in the back seat were dying to get out. It's about a 30 minute ferry ride from Hatteras to The Outer Banks. Then another 30 minutes from the ferry to the house we were staying at. FINALLY we were there! If you've ever rented a house on vacation you know how exciting it is to go inside and look around for an hour getting used to the place. If you haven't ever rented a house, a hotel is just about the same, the only difference is the time you spend exploring the place, because it's only one room. 

Josh's best friend Danny and his family also came and spend the week with us. We got there on Sunday, and that night we had Thai food and spent the rest of the night relaxing. On Monday we went to the beach, The water was kind of cold, but every time i go to the beach i HAVE to walk in the water. Collecting shells and walking in the water, possibly the best thing ever. It was also Ellie's first time to the beach so Josh was really excited. Norah was being stubborn and didn't decide to have fun until we were about to leave. We got home and everyone said "Alexi you can't shower until everyone else has showered" because they all know better then to let me shower first. 

On Tuesday we went fishing, Josh and Nic were really excited, Colman didn't get up until Nic had to yell at him.   I took some Dramamine and slept all day long. I woke up a few times then went right back to sleep. I wasn't sure why I was sleeping so much then I realized i had taken the drowsy formula. "Mild drowsiness may occur" then Nic gave me some Monster i felt good after that and stayed awake for the rest of the trip. When we got back I felt tired again, so i laid down on the couch Jess took one look at me and laughed "are you ok Alexi?" I expected that... I said I was fine then went upstairs to go back to sleep.

On Wednesday we got a Turduken It was pretty dang delicious. Later in the week we found a place where we got fresh shrimp and clams. I think that is when me and jess got along the most, when we were eating shrimp. We are definitely best of friends when there's a plate of shrimp and a bowl of melted butter in front of us. well, Thursday was thanksgiving. Turduken one day, turkey the next pretty great right? Pumpkin pie with ice cream, best thing ever! We bought our pies so we didn't have to make them that was kind of sad. oh well.
  Well the next night we had more shrimp and clams. It was delicious, once again Jess and i were the best of friends.....that is until she slapped me, that's right she slapped me. She saw a mosquito on my face and slapped it. I guess she can't be fast and gentle because she slapped me  SO HARD! My ear was bright red. She felt really bad, although it was funny. To this day I bet she still feels bad.
After that the rest of the trip went by so fast. We went to the beach one more time, the next day we piled in the car and started driving back to Virginia. We stayed in a really nice hotel right on the beach for two more nights. Even though Josh and Jess only got to stay one night. Well, saying goodbye wasn’t easy and it never will be. We said goodbye and Josh and Jess were on their way home. That night seemed long. It ended and we all went to bed and woke up the next morning and packed up into the car and drove to the airport

A Racer Was Born.

This is a Flash Fiction i wrote for English......

            One day a racer was born, she just didn’t know until she was thirteen when she got her first ATV. The riding began a year later the jumping started, she thought she was pretty awesome. Well, awhile later her parents decided to sell her ATV.  A year later she got surprised with a new ATV and had been talking about racing.  Finally the racing begins.            The day she was surprised with the new ATV she couldn’t believe it. she woke up the next morning and ran outside to get a closer look. It was a lot bigger then she expected but all that mattered is that it went fast and it sure did.  An Orange comflage 700cc Kawasaki

            Indoor,  year-round race track. Engines roaring, people yelling, ready for the race to begin. The gate drops and the race is on. a long straight shot, coming up on the first jump they go flying through the air. Up in the air it seems like forever.  Through the whoops and around another corner leading to another jump. they land, and race around a small turn then go as fast as they possibly can down the long straight shot. One lap complete, two more to go. Finally they come up on the finish line one by one. Taking their helmets off they get off their ATV’s and wait for them to announce 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd place. A loud booming voice comes over the intercom and says “now ladies and gentlemen we will announce the winners.” The crowd cheers. And first place goes to number 35.  Second place goes to number 12. Last but not least third place goes to number 5.  Congratulations to all our other racers and better luck next time.

            After all those years she finally got to race, and will continue racing for many years or until she gets hurt. That’s the story of a girl who was born to be a racer.

ATV Sled Incidents

Christmas and stuff...

So i think it was the 11th or something we had the Brinkerhoff Christmas party. (my mom's family) It was really fun i saw my cousins and aunt from Idaho. We get along really well and almost every time they come we always look at each other and say "sleepover? yeah!!" then we run to ask if we can. well it didn't happen this time oh well. Oh yeah and the GIANT CANDY CANE yes i brought it!!!! Everyone was so amazed and my cousin asked me if it was a real candy cane...he wasn't there when we bought it. So my cousin and i just laughed and said "YES of course" well yeah i got pictures of me and my cousin together with the GIANT CANDY CANE!!!! Did i mention the pictures were taken just hours before the GIANT CANDY CANE broke......?? well it's true it broke....  let's just say Colman had ti do with this TRAGIC accident Yes it was TRAGIC! I was SO sad!!! Later that night i told Kindra that we were going to get another one cuz she was so sad it broke too even tho she wasn't there when we bought it.....i haven't told Jaicee that it broke....

A week later was the Wilcox family Christmas party. Also that weekend we went to Salt Lake my dad had been working late in Salt Lake every night late so on Saturday night we decided to go up to SLC  and stay in a hotel so he didnt have to come home really late then go back really early the next day. He had been filming the Christmas concert and Sunday morning was Music And The Spoken Word. Saturday night we met Erin and Nic at Thanksgiving Point they wanted to take Norah to see the deer and they invited us. After that we made our way up  to SLC. We got there about 8:00 and checked in the hotel and went and looked at the lights around Temple Square, then we went back to the hotel and my dad came about a half hour later. We watched a movie and got snacks and had a little party there in our hotel room. About 11 we all went to bed i think i didn't sleep till 12 and woke up almost every hour.... yeah i didn't sleep well.. I woke up the next morning at like 8:00 We were going to go to the Music And Spoken Word but we didn't know we had to get tickets (this year was the first year you had to have tickets) so we stayed in the comfy hotel room and watched it. Then i took a nap....an awful one might i add... i was so tired though! My dad finished working and we met him at Little America, if you don't know what that is it's a really fancy hotel (my brother used to work there a long time ago) and they have a Buffet every Sunday morning that anyone can go to. it's a great buffet! Really expensive though. After the amazing brunch we had it was 3 hours before the party was supposed to start, we decided just to go to my aunt's house when we got there they were still at church so we waited and soon they got home. Anyways the party was fun. My aunt made my favorite bean salad for me. I talked to my brother in law and my cousin wasn't there and she told me she could come but it ended up she couldn't. I really missed her! But, i still had a great time with all my other cousins and  my uncles are the best! so it was fun! I know this is a long post so i will wrap it up, i just haven''t blogged for awhile lots has been going on so i wanted to write about it.
For Christmas, i got: A PHONE!!!! FINALLY YAY!! Clothes, headphones, shoes, money and candy. It was great!!! Here are a few pics iv'e taken on my phone

GIANT CANY CANE!!!!!!!!

So me and my crazy cousin Jaicee always have sooo much fun together! We are sooo crazy and as silly as can be when we are together! A week ago i believe...we went out to lunch with my grandma for her birthday! (on thanksgiving) Jaicee and i always talk about the weirdest things! A few weeks before i was telling her how i was sick and sounded like a hissing, dying cat! (i seriously did!) anyways we were talking about it all day, so at the lunch i brought it up and she just laughed sooo hard! Then she decided i look like a cat.....do i? hmm anyways we argued over that for awhile and then i finally gave in and said fine! i look like a cat! I don't even remember what we decided what animal she looks like..... a tiger? hmm yeah that probably was it... ANYWAYS we aren't even to the good part! After we ate my grandma had been wanting to go to a store she saw so we all went to this really cool store i don't even remember what it was called.... It was like a home decor store but it also had cool gadgets and cool stuff like that! GUESS WHAT WE FOUND!!!!  A GIANT 2 POUND CANDY CANE!!!!!! We just laughed and laughed and LAUGHED! I kept saying "oh my gosh!!!! i'm going to get it!!!!!!" so after begging my mom and convincing her that i would pay for it...i got it!! it was $10 but i just had to have it! it was just so funny and ridiculous! you know when you se something so ridiculous at the store you just have to get it? well yeah that's how i felt with this giant candy cane! Jaicee and i just kept making jokes about it and how "it would take me 7 years to eat it" it just cracked me up so i had to get it! So i bought it and left....when i got in the car i was all excited to tell Jaicee so i texted her right away and said "jaicee !!!!!!!! i got that HUGE candy cane!" I got a text back "who is this?" i responded "Alexi" got a text back "i think you have the wrong number" i was like......ahhh "who is this?" and this mystery guy responded......"Jose"  i got all nervous and checked the number and at first i thought it was just Jaicee playing a trick on me then i took a closer look at the number and it was WRONG! So i changed it and texted Jaicee and i said "jaicee! i got that HUGE candy cane!!!" i got a response back.."oh my gosh!!!!!! that's so funny!" there we go it was my cousin!! So i told her how i had her number wrong in my moms phone and i texted some guy named Jose......oh and did she think that was SO FUNNY!!! I was texting her and she didn't respond for awhile then i got a response "sorry i'm still laughing! That is so funny!" I'm sure when i see her in a few weeks she will bring that up and we will laugh our heads off!!!!! Anyways that's my experience with texting mystery people.......kinda creepy..... Jaicee is the best cousin anyone could ever ask for! she is the BEST!!(these are from when i got home that night so Jaicee isn't in any, I'm planning on bringing it to our family Christmas party so we'll get some pictures of both of us then!)

Apple Days (day 2)

Today was day 2 of apple days! It was great!!!! I did a lot more work today then yesterday....well hey there wasn't much to do yesterday so i goofed off. Pressing apples, grinding apples, and washing apples i was busy today.......My favorite job today was pressing the apples i did that more then any other job.  oh and did i mention drinking the apple juice? YES!!! i did lots of that too! It was YUMMY!! And....yes i did goof off a little but....Adam and David were here again. My aunt and uncle came today so i attacked my uncle that was really fun! My aunt Connie makes a really good bean salad and her family doesn't enjoy it as much as she does so she brings me some because she knows i love it!!! So i got bean salad from my favorite aunt! I also ate a lot of donuts!!!! I had another goood day!!!!!!!
